RemediumOne extends its congratulations to Senior Professor Asita de Silva on his induction as a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka (NASSL), one of the highest recognitions accorded to scientists in the country. The induction ceremony was held on 20 June 2026, bringing together leading members of Sri Lanka’s scientific community to honour individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of science.

Professor Asita de Silva serves as Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, and is widely recognised for his contributions to medical research, clinical pharmacology, education, and healthcare development. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has played a significant role in strengthening research capacity in Sri Lanka while contributing to scientific knowledge that has influenced healthcare practice both locally and internationally.

National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka

The National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka (NASSL) is the country’s foremost scientific institution dedicated to promoting the advancement of science and its application for national development. Established in 1976, the Academy brings together some of Sri Lanka’s most accomplished scientists and scholars across a broad range of disciplines.
