Foundations of Clinical Trials and Implementation Research in Cardiovascular Health Workshop Completed Successfully

The two-day Workshop on Foundations of Clinical Trials and Implementation Research in Cardiovascular Health was successfully conducted by the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), University of Kelaniya and RemediumOne, in collaboration with The George Institute for Global Health and the University of Abuja.

The workshop brought together early- and mid-career researchers and healthcare professionals for an intensive programme focused on strengthening capacity in cardiovascular health research.

Across the two days, participants engaged in practical and interactive sessions covering key aspects of clinical and implementation research, including:

• Formulating impactful cardiovascular research questions
• Designing rigorous clinical trials and implementation studies
• Navigating ethical and data requirements in clinical research
• Developing submission-ready research concept notes
• Data management and medical statistics
• Practical implementation research methods

This successful programme marks an important step toward strengthening research capacity and supporting the development of impactful clinical trials and implementation studies in the region.
