RemediumOne extends its heartfelt congratulations toĀ Dr. Manilka SumanatillekeĀ on his well-deserved election as theĀ 132nd President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA).
A Consultant Endocrinologist attached to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Dr. Sumanatilleke brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the health challenges facing the nation. He is also a valued Principal Investigator within the RemediumOne team, contributing meaningfully to several of our endocrinology studies. His scientific rigor, unwavering leadership, and dedication have been evident in every project he has been a part of, and this new role is a fitting reflection of those qualities.
In his Presidential Address, titledĀ “Wellness in the Nation Through Local and Global Partnerships,”Ā Dr. Sumanatilleke outlined a clear and forward-thinking vision for the SLMA. At the heart of his message was a call to shift focus towards theĀ prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly diabetes and cardiovascular diseases rather than depending solely on costly curative treatments.
He believes, and rightly so, that a stronger emphasis onĀ early prevention will lead to healthier, more sustainable outcomes for Sri Lanka. His address was also a nationwide call to action, inviting the government, NGOs, professional organisations, and the media to come together under one shared goal: total health and wellbeing for every Sri Lankan.
Dr. Sumanatilleke’s vision aligns closely with the mission we carry out every day at RemediumOne. Through our clinical trials and research services, especially in the field of endocrinology and we are committed to generating the evidence that supports informed, patient-centered health decisions.
We are proud to have collaborated with Dr. Sumanatilleke, and we look forward toĀ continuing that partnership, supporting the kind of research-driven, prevention-focused initiatives that can make a real difference in the lives of Sri Lankans.
