University of Kelaniya becomes a member of the WHO Global Clinical Trial Forum network.

We’re proud to share that the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka has become a member of the World Health Organization, Global Clinical Trial Forum network (GCTF).

GCTF is a collaborative network connecting member states, regulators, researchers, funders, civil society, and patient/community organizations across the world. The forum was launched in October 2025.

The Forum will drive stronger, more inclusive, and ethical clinical trial ecosystems by:
Ā· promoting adoption of WHO’s best practices and standards
Ā· building capacity and infrastructure for high-quality trials
Ā· Sharing knowledge and strengthening collaboration across regions and countries.

As a member of the GCTF, the University of Kelaniya will work alongside national stakeholders to promote the integration of clinical research within the health system, streamline approvals for high-quality, priority-aligned studies, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s position in the global research landscape.

Together, we take forward WHO’s roadmap — towards a more equitable, efficient, and impactful clinical research ecosystem.
